Yes, there are... As you mentioned, during the Middle Ages, the Roman Empire practised a system of feudalism in the running of their states. In Sec 3 History, you will learn an example of feudalism in Russia where the people pledged their loyalty to the Tsar before the Russian Revolution.
Another example is in the Malay Archiepelago (region) - the Malay states like Melaka were also under feudalism. The commoners (peasants)were very loyal under the great Sultan (ruler) and in return, the Sultan provided protection to the people.
